Dr Chiy is a Chartered Legal Executive, Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. He was appointed Magistrate (Cambridge Bench, United Kingdom) on 27 July 2004 and remains in the Supplemental List for England and Wales. Although already a fully-qualified Barrister of England and Wales, Dr Chiy is an Unregistered Barrister, as the Bar Council rules do not permit dual-registration.
