As an ACCA Practical Experience Supervisor, Morlai helps his accounting and audit trainees identify which performance objectives they should target and a timeline for achievement.
He helps them plan the experience they need to achieve their targeted performance objectives. This could mean helping arrange job rotations, project work or other opportunities to gain relevant experience.
He also helps them identify any personal development needed to achieve an objective, and how they might get that development. For example, signposting training, research, practice or additional coaching in specific areas with the Moracle.
He then evaluates their progress on a regular basis and sign off their Practical Experience Record (PER) – performance objectives and time in a relevant role within Moracle.
Accounting and audit trainees employed by Moracle need to have both their performance objectives and time in a relevant role signed off by a practical experience supervisor. To sign off performance objectives you must be a qualified accountant recognised by law in the UK and/or a member of an IFAC body and have knowledge of the trainee’s work.
Over the past 9 years, Morlai has signed off over 10 ACCA trainees’ PER.
A not-for-profit and social enterprise organisation based in London set up with its main aim to support disadvantaged accounting graduates and students in their early careers. The organisation gears towards providing accounting students and graduates with hands-on experience by involving them in projects delivered to charitable and commercial entities so that they become more employable.
As Founder, Morlai felt it was an injustice that many aspiring accountants in the UK including those who have passed their final ACCA examinations struggled to find accounting work because of lack of relevant practical experience. He believes that as part of an organisation’s corporate social responsibility and his personal experience, it is important to give back to society. His activity and enthusiasm in providing support to young disadvantaged professionals could be called as a huge success – so far Moracle Foundation has provided an opportunity to more than 70 trainees, under-graduates, post-graduates or graduates to launch their careers in accountancy in the UK.
Morlai said: “It’s indeed a great honour to have to meet people who flow through your professional life and share their stories with you. To listen, to really hear, feel, see with compassion and work in a tolerant and space free of judgement is just magical”.
At Moracle Foundation, the mentoring relationship is professional, personal and confidential. The mentoring style involves a mix of support, consulting, encouragement, coaching, challenges, brainstorming sessions, motivation and inspiration.

Tax Services
Corporation tax
The team will ensure your tax charge is managed and tax in other areas of your business affecting shareholders’ wealth and employee benefits is minimised.
An efficient, cost effective compliance service assures the fiscal obligations of your business are met to the benefit of your business.
Self Assessment
We offer a Self Assessment filing service for our clients and will make your tax filing as simple as possible.
You will need to register for Self Assessment if you know you have additional taxable income
We can register you for Self Assessment, please call 07939 017649 for more information.
Sole Trader Accounts and Tax
Self Employed people are taxed on the Profits of their business under the Income Tax system, i.e. not on the money they take out of the business.
Year End Accounts are prepared first. Tax on the business, along with other personal income, is then calculated as part of the Self Assessment process.
Class 2 National Insurance and Class 4 National Insurance are also payable, if your Profits are greater than the thresholds.
To summarise, if you have not registered your business as a Limited Company, you are regarded as being Self-Employed by HMRC and you will be taxed under the Income Tax rules.
We recommend that you start the accounts and tax process in good time. We also believe that your Year End Accounts should be prepared for your own benefit, and we will help you understand them.
Tax is frequently the only reason why businesses prepare their Year End Accounts. As a result it can be quite stressful and gets low priority. However, delays can be costly.
Penalties are charged by HMRC if a Self Assessment is filed late.
When do I need to pay my Income Tax under Self Assessment?
Income Tax must be paid by 31st January for the previous tax year. Eg, for Tax Year 2017/18, ended 5th April 2018, Income Tax is payable by 31st January 2019.
Tax Services
Our Services can save you the time and the hassle. We will prepare your Income Tax calculations and Self Assessment and submit them to HMRC.
Our Tax Services also include: • VAT • Payroll / PAYE • P11D • CIS
